Oxidation ditch aeration
In an oxidation ditch for secondary treatment, sludge is transported horizontally through a circular shaped tank. Aeration provides oxygen for aerobic micro-organisms to enable consumption of organic material. Aeration also facilitates nitrification processes for nitrogen removal why effecient aeration is needed to optimize the nutrient removal.
